Are you feeling bored with your brand? 2014 is quickly approaching — perhaps it’s time to ring in the new year with a mini image overhaul.

Here’s a list we put together of five simple things you can do to freshen up your brand for 2014:

1. Update your logo

You don’t have to change it, just give it a facelift. Here are three companies who underwent successful logo transformations without making disastrous departures from their original images:

2. Redesign the homepage of your website

Just the homepage

– it’s so much easier than building a whole new website.

The homepage is where everyone lands when they first type in your URL and it’s generally the page that gets the most traffic, so updating it is a great way to give the whole site a new look with minimal effort. Change the color scheme, add your updated logo, change the font, etc. – you’ll be amazed what a difference a few minor alterations make. Make sure any modifications that must appear on every page (eg – your new logo) are done on the staticpage and not the dynamic.

3. Create new business cards
This should be done periodically, no matter what, regardless of whether or not you’re updating your brand. Add your new logo to your business cards, change the color, shape, font, stock, etc. There are so many things you can do give your cards a makeover. And guess what? 4. Find a new social media outlet
Growing tired of trying to come up with original 140 character Tweets every day? Well, don’t necessarily give it up if you’ve got a hefty Twitter following, but DO try adding a new outlet into the mix to spice things up, and DO get rid of the outlet(s) that aren’t serving your brand. For example, maybe you’re using Twitter, Facebook and Instagram but your Instagram following is lagging. So maybe try Tumblr instead, or some other photo focused outlet like Pinterest. Then you can announce the big launch on your other social media outlets and have fun with a new little campaign. It’ll keep you from becoming bored, and it’ll be a new way to engage your followers more.
